धनुरादाय तत्राहं नाशकं तस्य पूरणे
dhanur ādāya tatrāhaṃ nāśakaṃ tasya pūraṇe
அங்கே நான் வில்லை எடுத்தேன்; ஆனால் அதில் நாண் ஏற்ற இயலவில்லை. ஒருகாலத்தில் என் விருப்பத்திற்கே இணங்கிய அந்த ஆயுதம், அந்தக் கணத்தில் என் கட்டுப்பாட்டை விட்டு விலகியது. அப்போது உணர்ந்தேன்—வலிமையும் திறமையும் என்றும் நிலைப்பதில்லை; காலம் திரும்பினால் வல்லவனும் பணிவுடன் தன் எல்லையை ஏற்க வேண்டியதே.
