तथा सा पतिता देवी गान्धारी दीर्घदर्शिनी । शुशोच बहुलालापै: कर्णस्य निधन युधि,इसी तरह दूरतक सोचनेवाली गान्धारी देवी भी पछाड़ खाकर गिरीं और बहुत विलाप करती हुई युद्धमें कर्णकी मृत्युके लिये शोक करने लगीं
tathā sā patitā devī gāndhārī dīrghadarśinī | śuśoca bahulālāpaiḥ karṇasya nidhanaṃ yudhi ||
அவ்வாறே தொலைநோக்குடைய தேவி காந்தாரியும் துயரால் வீழ்ந்து, பலவிதமான புலம்பல்களுடன் போர்க்களத்தில் கர்ணனின் மரணத்திற்காக அழுது புலம்பினாள்।
