हयानन्ये गजानन्ये रथानन्ये महारथा: । आरुहा जवसम्पन्ना: पदातीन्‌ प्रजहुर्भयात्‌

Transliteration

hayān anye gajān anye rathān anye mahārathāḥ | ārūhya javasampannāḥ padātīn prajahur bhayāt ||

Translation

சஞ்சயன் கூறினான்—சிலர் குதிரைகளில், சிலர் யானைகளில், மேலும் சில மகாரதர்கள் தேர்களில் ஏறினர். அச்சத்தால் உந்தப்பட்டு அவர்கள் மிகுந்த வேகத்தில் ஓடி, காலாட்படையினரை அங்கேயே விட்டுச் சென்றனர்.
