अन्यस्मै देहि गाण्डीवमिति मां योडभिचोदयेत्‌

Transliteration

anyasmai dehi gāṇḍīvam iti māṁ yo 'bhi-codayet | tasya śiraś chindiyām iti mayā manasi pratijñātam | ananta-parākrama govinda! tvat-sannidhau eva eṣa mahārājaḥ mām etad avadat; tasmād enaṁ na kṣamāmi | imaṁ dharma-bhīruṁ nṛpaṁ haniṣyāmi ||

Translation

சஞ்சயன் கூறினான்—‘காண்டீவத்தை வேறொருவருக்கு கொடு’ என்று என்னை யார் தூண்டினாலும், அவன் தலையை வெட்டுவேன் என்று நான் உள்ளத்தில் சபதம் செய்துள்ளேன். எல்லையற்ற வீரமுடைய கோவிந்தா! உன் முன்னிலையிலேயே இந்த மகாராஜா என்னிடம் அதே வார்த்தையைச் சொன்னான்; ஆகவே நான் அவனை மன்னிக்க இயலாது. தர்மத்தை மீற அஞ்சும் இந்த அரசனையும் நான் கொல்வேன்.
