कर्णनिधनवृत्तान्तनिवेदनम् | Reporting Karṇa’s Fall to Yudhiṣṭhira
भवेत् सत्यमवक्तव्यं न वक्तव्यमनुछितम् । सत्यानृते विनिश्चित्य ततो भवति धर्मवित्
bhavet satyam avaktavyaṃ na vaktavyam anucitam | satyānṛte viniścitya tato bhavati dharmavit ||
ஸ்ரீகிருஷ்ணன் கூறினார்—சில நேரங்களில் உண்மையாயினும் சொல்லத் தகாததாக இருக்கும்; மேலும் அநுசிதமானதைச் சொல்லக் கூடாது. முதலில் உண்மை-பொய்யை நன்கு தீர்மானித்து, பின்னர் விளைவில் உண்மையை நிலைநிறுத்தும் வழியையே பின்பற்ற வேண்டும். இவ்வாறு விவேகத்துடன் நடப்பவனே தர்மத்தை அறிந்தவன்.
