कर्णनिधनवृत्तान्तनिवेदनम् | Reporting Karṇa’s Fall to Yudhiṣṭhira
प्राणिनामवधस्तात सर्वज्यायान् मतो मम । अनृतां वा वदेद् वाचं न तु हिंस्थात् कथंचन
prāṇinām avadhas tāta sarvajyāyān mato mama | anṛtāṃ vā vaded vācaṃ na tu hiṃsyāt kathaṃcana ||
ஸ்ரீகிருஷ்ணன் கூறினார்— அன்பனே, என் கருத்தில் எல்லாவற்றிலும் உயர்ந்த வழி இதுவே: உயிர்களை கொல்லாதே. ஒருவரின் உயிரைக் காக்க பொய் சொல்ல வேண்டியிருந்தாலும் சொல்லலாம்; ஆனால் எந்த விதத்திலும் அந்த உயிருக்கு வன்முறை செய்யாதே।
