तब अर्जुनने उस महामनस्वी वीरके समस्त घोड़ोंको मारकर समरभूमिमें खूनकी नदी- सी बहा दी ।। सर्वलोकवहां रौद्रां परलोकवहां नदीम् । सरथान् रथिन: सर्वान् पार्थचापच्युतै: शरै:
sarvalokavahāṁ raudrāṁ paralokavahāṁ nadīm | sa-rathān rathinaḥ sarvān pārtha-cāpa-cyutaiḥ śaraiḥ ||
பார்த்தனின் வில்லிலிருந்து புறப்பட்ட அம்புகள் ரதங்களோடு எல்லா ரதிகர்களையும் வீழ்த்தின; அப்போர்க்களத்தில் இரத்தத்தின் ஒரு கொடூர நதி ஓடியது—இவ்வுலகிலிருந்து மனிதரை இழுத்துச் சென்று மறுவுலகிற்கு கொண்டு போவதுபோல்.
