उपास्यमानान् बहुशो न्यस्तशस्त्रैविशाम्पते । ज्ञातिभि: सहितांस्तत्र रोदमानैमुहुर्मुहु:,'प्रजापालक अर्जुन! उन दूसरे योद्धाओंपर दृष्टिपात करो जिनके प्राण अभीतक शेष हैं और जो चारों ओर कराह रहे हैं। उनके बहुसंख्यक कुटुम्बीजन हथियार डालकर उनके निकट आ बैठे हैं और बारंबार रो रहे हैं

upāsyamānān bahuśo nyastaśastrair viśāmpate |
ñātibhiḥ sahitāṁs tatra rodamānair muhur muhuḥ ||
சஞ்சயன் கூறினான்—மனிதரின் தலைவனே, இன்னும் உயிர் மீதமுள்ள மற்ற வீரர்களை நோக்கு; அவர்கள் எங்கும் புலம்புகின்றனர். அவர்களைச் சுற்றி, பல உறவினர் ஆயுதங்களை விட்டு அருகில் அமர்ந்து மீண்டும் மீண்டும் அழுகின்றனர்.
