Prelude to Karṇa’s Slaying
अपरे प्राद्रवन् नागा: शल्यार्ता व्रणपीडिता: । प्रतिमानैश्व कुम्भैश्न पेतुरुव्या महाहवे
apare prādravan nāgāḥ śalyārtā vraṇapīḍitāḥ | pratimānaiś ca kumbhaiś ca petur urvyā mahāhave ||
சஞ்சயன் கூறினான்—வேறு சில யானைகள் ஈட்டிகளின் வேதனையாலும் காயங்களின் வலியாலும் துன்புற்று அச்சத்தில் ஓடின; அந்தப் பெரும் போரில் அவை பூமியில் சரிந்தன—தங்கள் பெருந்தோற்ற உடல்களும் குடம்போன்ற கும்பங்களும் நிலத்தில் மோதிக் கீழே விழுந்தன.
