कृष्णोपदेशः, अर्जुनस्य क्षमा-याचनम्, कर्णवध-अनुज्ञा

तान् दृष्टवा समरे शूरांस्तर्जमानान् परस्परम्
tān dṛṣṭvā samare śūrāṁs tarjayamānān parasparam
சஞ்சயன் கூறினான்—போர்க்களத்தில் அந்த வீரர்கள் ஒருவரையொருவர் இகழ்ந்து சவால் விடுவதைக் கண்டபோது, இந்த மோதல் ஆயுதங்களால் மட்டும் அல்ல; அகந்தை, போட்டி, மேலாதிக்க வேட்கையாலும் மேலும் தீவிரமடைகிறது என்பதை அவன் உணர்ந்தான்.
