उड्डीनमवडीनं च प्रडीनं डीनमेव च । निडीनमथ संडीनं तिर्यक्‌ डीनगतानि च

Transliteration

uḍḍīnam avaḍīnaṃ ca praḍīnaṃ dīnam eva ca | niḍīnam atha saṃḍīnaṃ tiryak dīna-gatāni ca

Translation

மேலே பறத்தல், கீழே இறங்குதல், முன்னே பறத்தல், முற்றிலும் விழுந்து கிடத்தல்; கூண்டில் சென்று அமர்தல், கூட்டமாகச் சேர்தல், மற்றும் சாய்வான வழியில் நகர்தல்—இவையெல்லாம் ‘தாழ்ந்த’ நிலையினுடைய பல்வேறு இயக்கங்களே.
