यत् कर्तव्यं मनुष्पेण व्यवसायवता सदा । तत् कार्यमविशड्केन सिद्धिर्देवे प्रतेष्ठिता,मनुष्यको सदा उद्योगशील होकर निःशंकभावसे अपने कर्तव्यका पालन करना चाहिये; परंतु उसकी सिद्धि दैवके ही अधीन है
yat kartavyaṁ manuṣyeṇa vyavasāyavatā sadā | tat kāryam aviśaṅkena siddhir deve pratiṣṭhitā ||
கர்ணன் கூறினான்—உறுதியான தீர்மானம் கொண்ட மனிதன் எப்போதும் செய்ய வேண்டிய கடமையைச் செய்ய வேண்டும்; தயக்கமின்றி அதை நிறைவேற்ற வேண்டும். ஆனால் வெற்றியின் நிறைவு தெய்வத்தின் கையில் நிலைத்துள்ளது.
