भीष्मवधाय प्रयाणम् — The Advance toward Bhīṣma and Counter-Engagements
दृष्टवा रथस्थांस्तान् शूरान् सूर्याग्निसमतेजस: । सवनिव महेष्वासान् भ्राजमानान् श्रिया वृतान्
sañjaya uvāca |
dṛṣṭvā rathasthāṁs tān śūrān sūryāgnisamatejasaḥ |
savanīva maheṣvāsān bhrājamānān śriyā vṛtān |
சஞ்சயன் கூறினான்—ரதங்களில் நின்ற அந்த வீரர்களை—சூரியனும் அக்னியும் போல் ஒளிரும் தேஜஸுடன், மாபெரும் வில்லாளர்களாய், அழகால் பிரகாசித்து, செல்வச் சிறப்பால் சூழப்பட்டவர்களாய்—கண்டு (எதிர்தரப்பு) வீரர்கள் போர்க்களத்திலிருந்து பின்வாங்கினர்; அந்த மாபெரும் சமரில் உமது வலிமைமிக்க புதல்வன் பீமசேனன் மட்டும் பின்வாங்கவில்லை।
