कलिड्जप्रभवां चैव मांसशोणितकर्दमाम् | रुधिरस्यन्दिनीं तत्र भीम: प्रावर्तयन्नदीम्,भीमसेनने वहाँ एक भयंकर नदी प्रकट कर दी, जो कलिंग-सेनारूपी उदगमस्थानसे निकली थी। उसमें मांस और शोणितकी ही कीच थी। वह नदी रक्तकी ही धारा बहा रही थी
kaliṅga-prabhavāṃ caiva māṃsa-śoṇita-kardamām | rudhira-syandinīṃ tatra bhīmaḥ prāvartayannadīm ||
அங்கே பீமன் கலிங்கப் படையையே ஊற்றாகக் கொண்டு ஒரு கொடுநதியை ஓடச் செய்தான்; அதன் சேறு மாம்சமும் இரத்தமும், அதன் ஓடை ரத்தப் பெருக்கே.
