सा गदा वेगवन्मुक्ता प्रायाद् द्रोणजिघांसया । तत्राद्भुतमपश्याम भारद्वाजस्य विक्रमम्,द्रोणाचार्यके वधकी इच्छासे वेगपूर्वक छोड़ी हुई वह गदा बड़े जोरसे चली; परंतु वहाँ हमलोगोंने उस समय द्रोणाचार्यका अद्भुत पराक्रम देखा
sā gadā vegavanmuktā prāyād droṇajighāṃsayā | tatrādbhutam apaśyāma bhāradvājasya vikramam ||
த்ரோணரை கொல்லவேண்டும் என்ற எண்ணத்துடன் வேகமாக எறியப்பட்ட அந்தக் கதை அவரை நோக்கி பாய்ந்தது; ஆனால் அங்கேயே அச்சமயம் பாரத்வாஜரின் மகன் த்ரோணரின் அதிசய வீரத்தை நாங்கள் கண்டோம்।
