भीष्मधनंजयद्वैरथम्

तथा पाण्डुसुताः पार्थ चिह्नमात्रेण जज्ञिरे | उस समय कौरवोंने भीष्मको तालध्वज आदि चिह्नमात्रसे ही पहचाना। इसी प्रकार पाण्डुपुत्रोंने भी कपिध्वज आदि चिह्नमात्रसे ही पार्थकी पहचान की
tathā pāṇḍusutāḥ pārtha cihnamātreṇa jajñire |
சஞ்சயன் கூறினான்—அதேபோல் கௌரவர்கள் தாளத்வஜம் முதலிய அடையாளங்களைக் கண்ட மாத்திரத்தில் பீஷ்மரை அறிந்தனர். பாண்டு புதல்வர்களும் கபித்வஜம் முதலிய குறியீடுகளைக் கண்ட மாத்திரத்தில் பார்த்தனை அறிந்தனர்.
