भीष्मपर्व — अध्याय 54: फल्गुन-प्रतिरोधः, सौबली-व्यूह-विध्वंसः, दुर्योधन-भीष्म-संवादः
व्यूह: क्रौज्चारुणो नाम सर्वशत्रुनिबर्हण: । यं बृहस्पतिरिन्द्राय तदा देवासुरेडब्रवीत्,'सेनापते! क्रौंचार॒ण नामक व्यूह समस्त शत्रुओंका संहार करनेवाला है; जिसे बृहस्पतिने देवासुर-संग्रामके अवसरपर इन्द्रको बताया था
vyūhaḥ krauñcāruṇo nāma sarvaśatrunibarhaṇaḥ | yaṃ bṛhaspatir indrāya tadā devāsura-saṅgare 'bravīt ||
சஞ்சயன் கூறினான்— ‘கௌஞ்சாருண’ எனப்படும் ஒரு படைவியூகம் உண்டு; அது எல்லா பகைவரையும் அழிப்பது. தேவர்கள்–அசுரர்கள் போரிட்ட பழங்காலத்தில் ப்ருஹஸ்பதி அதை இந்திரனுக்கு உபதேசித்தான்.
