यदि हाहं न वर्तेयं जातु कर्मण्यतन्द्रित: । मम वर्त्मनिवर्तन्ते मनुष्या: पार्थ सर्वश:,क्योंकि हे पार्थ! यदि कदाचित् मैं सावधान होकर कर्मोमें न बरतूँ तो बड़ी हानि हो जाय; क्योंकि मनुष्य सब प्रकारसे मेरे ही मार्गका अनुसरण करते हैं“
yadi hy ahaṁ na varteyaṁ jātu karmaṇy atandritaḥ | mama vartmānuvartante manuṣyāḥ pārtha sarvaśaḥ ||
ஓ பார்த்தா! நான் ஒருபோதும் விழிப்புடன் கர்மத்தில் ஈடுபடாமல் இருந்தால் பெரும் கேடு உண்டாகும்; ஏனெனில் மனிதர்கள் எல்லாவிதத்திலும் என் வழியையே பின்பற்றுகின்றனர்.
