अन्ये भीष्माच्छान्तनवात् तन्ममाचक्ष्व संजय । संजय! शान्तनुनन्दन भीष्मके सिवा, उस युद्धमें कौन-कौन-से हार रहे थे, किन-किन लोगोंकी पराजय हुई तथा कौन-कौन वीर बाणोंके लक्ष्य बनकर मार गिराये गये? यह सब मुझे बताओ

தருத்தராஷ்டிரன் கூறினான்—சஞ்சயா, சாந்தனுவின் மகன் பீஷ்மனைத் தவிர மற்றவர்களைப் பற்றியும் விரிவாகச் சொல். அந்தப் போரில் யார் யார் தளர்ந்து பின்னடைந்தனர், யார் யார் தோல்வியுற்றனர், எந்த வீரர்கள் அம்புகளின் இலக்காகி தாக்கப்பட்டு வீழ்ந்தனர்—இவை அனைத்தையும் எனக்குச் சொல்.
