न च शकक््यमवस्त्रष्टं वैरमेतत् सुदारुणम् । धनंजयेन योत्स्येडहं स्वधर्मप्रीतमानस:
na ca śakyam avastrāṣṭuṁ vairam etat sudāruṇam | dhanaṁjayena yotsye 'haṁ svadharma-prīta-mānasaḥ ||
பாண்டவர்களுடன் எங்களுடைய இந்தப் பகை மிகக் கொடுமையானதாகிவிட்டது; இனி இதை ஒதுக்கவோ நீக்கவோ இயலாது. ஆகவே, என் தர்மத்தை நிறைவேற்றுவதில் மனம் நிறைந்து, நான் தனஞ்சயன் (அர்ஜுனன்) உடன் போரிடுவேன்.
