तस्य कीर्तिमतस्तात पुरा रामेण धीमता
tasya kīrtimatas tāta purā rāmeṇa dhīmatā |
சஞ்சயன் கூறினான்—தாதா! முன்னொரு காலத்தில் பேரறிவுடைய ராமன் (பரசுராமன்) அந்தப் புகழ்மிக்க பீஷ்மனுக்கு அளித்த, பகைச் சேனைகளைச் சிதைக்கும் அஸ்திரப் பயிற்சியைத் துணையாகக் கொண்டு, குருகுலத்தின் முதிய பிதாமகன், பகை வீரர்களை அழிப்பவன் பீஷ்மன், பாண்டவர் பக்கச் சேனையில் நாள்தோறும் பத்தாயிரம் தலைசிறந்த வீரர்களை வெட்டி வீழ்த்திக் கொண்டிருந்தான்.
