तान्यनीकान्यनीकेषु समसज्जन्त भारत । तावकानां परेषां च दृष्टवा शान्तनवं रणे,भारत! आपके और शत्रुपक्षेके सब सैनिक युद्धमें शान्तनुनन्दन भीष्मको देखकर विरोधी सैनिकोंके साथ जमकर युद्ध करने लगे

ஓ பாரதா! அந்தப் படைவியூகங்கள் ஒன்றோடொன்று மோதித் திடமாகப் பற்றிக்கொண்டன. போர்க்களத்தில் சாந்தனவன் (பீஷ்மன்) தோன்றியதைப் பார்த்ததும், உங்களுடையவர்களும் எதிர்ப்படையும் தீவிரமாகப் போரில் இறங்கினர்।
