भीष्मस्य अप्रतिमपराक्रमः — शिखण्डिपुरस्कृतः प्रहारः

अवारयन्त संहृष्टास्तावका: पुरुषर्षभा: । युद्धमें प्रलयकालीन जलप्रवाहके समान आते हुए उन वीरोंको आपकी सेनाके श्रेष्ठ पुरुषोंने हर्ष और उत्साहमें भरकर रोका
avārayanta saṁhṛṣṭās tāvakāḥ puruṣarṣabhāḥ |
சஞ்சயன் கூறினான்—உற்சாகத்தில் திளைத்த உமது வீரப் புருஷசிம்மங்கள் அவர்களைத் தடுத்தனர். பிரளயகால வெள்ளம்போல் பாய்ந்து வந்த அந்த வீரர்களை உமது சேனையின் சிறந்தோர் மகிழ்ச்சியும் வீராவேசமும் கொண்டு அடக்கினர்.
