Daśame’hani Bhīṣma-yuddham — Śikhaṇḍī-rakṣaṇa, Arjuna-prabhāva, Duryodhana-āśraya-vākyam
लेलिहन् सृक्किणी वीरो मृगराडिव कानने । हाथियोंकी सेनाको आते देख वीर कुन्तीकुमार भीमसेन जैसे वनमें सिंह अपने जबड़ोंको चाटता है, उसी प्रकार मुँहके दोनों कोनोंको चाटने लगे

lelihan sṛkkiṇī vīro mṛgarāḍ iva kānane |
சஞ்சயன் கூறினான்—யானைப் படை முன்னேறி வருவதைக் கண்ட வீர குந்திபுத்திரன் பீமசேனன், காட்டில் மிருகராஜ சிங்கம் தன் வாயின் மூலைகளை நக்குவது போல, வாயின் இரு மூலைகளையும் நக்கினான்.
