अर्जुनदुःखहेतुप्रश्नः — Inquiry into the cause of Arjuna’s recurring hardship

उपाजिघ्रद् यथाशास्त्र सर्वपापापहं तदा । भाइयोंसहित धर्मराज युधिष्ठिरने शास्त्रकी आज्ञाके अनुसार उस चर्बीके धूमकी गन्ध सूँघी
vaiśampāyana uvāca |
upājighrad yathāśāstraṃ sarvapāpāpahaṃ tadā |
dīyatāṃ bhujyatāṃ ceṣṭaṃ divārātram avāritam |
taṃ mahotsava-saṅkāśaṃ hṛṣṭa-puṣṭa-janākulam |
வைசம்பாயனர் கூறினார்— பின்னர் தர்மராஜன் யுதிஷ்டிரன் சகோதரர்களுடன், சாஸ்திர விதிப்படி, எல்லாப் பாவங்களையும் போக்கும் எனக் கருதப்படும் அந்த புகையின் நறுமணத்தை சுவாசித்தான். மேலும்— “தானம் வழங்கப்படுக; விரும்பிய உணவுகள் உண்ணப்படுக; பகலும் இரவும் தடையின்றி” என்று அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது. அந்தக் காட்சி பெருவிழாவைப் போல, மகிழ்ச்சியும் நிறைவும் கொண்ட மக்களால் நிரம்பியிருந்தது.
