Subhadrā’s Petition to Kṛṣṇa for the Revival of Parīkṣit (अभिमन्युज-प्राणरक्षा-प्रार्थना)
द्रौपदीमुत्तरां चैव पृथां चाप्पवलोककः । समाश्चासयितु चापि क्षत्रिया निहतेश्वरा:
vaiśampāyana uvāca |
draupadīm uttarāṃ caiva pṛthāṃ cāpy avalokakaḥ |
samāśvāsayituṃ cāpi kṣatriyā nihatēśvarāḥ ||
அவன் த்ரௌபதி, உத்தரா, ப்ருதா (குந்தி) ஆகியோரைச் சந்திக்கவும், கணவர்கள் கொல்லப்பட்ட க்ஷத்திரியப் பெண்களை ஆறுதல் கூறி மனத் திடத்தை அளிக்கவும் வந்தான்।
वैशम्पायन उवाच
In the wake of catastrophic loss, dharma expresses itself as compassionate responsibility: leaders and elders must not only pursue victory or ritual aims, but also attend to the wounded social fabric by consoling the bereaved and restoring moral courage.
A visitor arrives with the purpose of meeting Draupadī, Uttarā, and Kuntī, and of giving reassurance to the royal women whose husbands have been killed, emphasizing communal healing after the war.
