ज्योतिराकाशमादित्यो वायुरिन्द्र: प्रजापति: । नोपैति यावदध्यात्मं तावदेतान् न पश्यति,जबतक अध्यात्मज्ञानकी प्राप्ति नहीं होती, तबतक मनुष्य इन ज्योति, आकाश, वायु, सूर्य, इन्द्र और प्रजापति आदिके यथार्थ तत्त्वको नहीं जानता (आत्मज्ञान होनेपर इनका यथार्थ ज्ञान हो जाता है)
jyotir ākāśam ādityo vāyur indraḥ prajāpatiḥ | nopaiti yāvad adhyātmaṁ tāvad etān na paśyati ||
வாயு கூறினான்—ஒளி, ஆகாயம், சூரியன், காற்று, இந்திரன், பிரஜாபதி—உள்ளாத்ம ஞானம் பெறாதவரை மனிதன் இவற்றின் உண்மைத்தத்துவத்தைத் தெளிவாகக் காணமாட்டான். ஆத்மஞானம் உதித்தபின் அவற்றின் சத்தியமும் விளங்கும்.

Without adhyātma-jñāna (realization of the inner Self), one’s understanding of even the greatest cosmic powers—light, space, sun, wind, Indra, Prajāpati—remains superficial. Self-knowledge clarifies the true nature of these principles and removes mistaken perception.
Vāyu is instructing the listener that spiritual insight is the key to right vision: until the inner Self is known, the realities symbolized by major deities and elements are not properly ‘seen’; with Self-realization, their essential truth becomes intelligible.
