कामात्मान॑ न प्रशंसन्ति लोके नेहाकामा काचिदस्ति प्रवृत्ति: । सर्वे कामा मनसोज्जप्रभूता यान् पण्डित: संहरते विचिन्त्य
kāmātmānaṁ na praśaṁsanti loke nehākāmā kācid asti pravṛttiḥ | sarve kāmā manaso 'jja-prabhūtā yān paṇḍitaḥ saṁharate vicintya ||
ஆசைகளில் அடிமையான மனம் உடையவனை உலகம் புகழாது. இங்கு ஆசையின்றி எந்தச் செயற்பாடும் எழாது; எல்லா ஆசைகளும் மனத்திலிருந்தே பிறக்கின்றன. ஆகவே அறிவுடையோர் ஆழ்ந்து சிந்தித்து, ஆசைகள் துன்பத்தின் காரணம் என அறிந்து, அவற்றை அடக்கி விட்டு விடுகின்றனர்.
