अध्याय ९ — धृतराष्ट्रस्य युधिष्ठिरं प्रति राजनित्युपदेशः
Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Counsel on Royal Policy to Yudhiṣṭhira
प्राजजलि: पूजयामास त॑ जन॑ भरतर्षभ । ततो विवेश भवन गान्धार्या सहितो निजम् | व्युष्टायां चैव शर्वर्या यच्चकार निबोध तत्
Vaiśampāyana uvāca: prāñjaliḥ pūjayāmāsa taṃ janaṃ bharatarṣabha | tato viveśa bhavanaṃ gāndhāryā sahito nijam || vyuṣṭāyāṃ caiva śarvaryā yaccakāra nibodha tat, bharatamaśreṣṭha! ||
வைசம்பாயனர் கூறினார்— பாரதகுலச் சிறந்தவனே! அவர் கைகூப்பி அந்த மக்களை மரியாதையுடன் போற்றி வணங்கினார். பின்னர் காந்தாரியுடன் தம் இல்லத்திற்குள் நுழைந்தார். இரவு கழிந்து விடியல் வந்தபின், அவர் அடுத்து செய்ததை கேள்.
