Chatra–Upānah Dāna: Origin Narrative
Jamadagni–Reṇukā–Sūrya Saṃvāda
तमाहुरारता ऋषयो महर्षि न ते वयं पुष्करं चोरयाम: । मिथ्याभिषंगो भवता न कार्य: शपाम तीक्ष्णै: शपथैर्महर्षे
tam āhur āratā ṛṣayo maharṣi na te vayaṁ puṣkaraṁ corayāmaḥ | mithyābhiṣaṅgo bhavatā na kāryaḥ śapāma tīkṣṇaiḥ śapathair maharṣe ||
இதைக் கேட்ட மகரிஷிகள் அஞ்சித் திகைத்து அந்த மகரிஷியிடம் கூறினர்—“மகரிஷே! உங்கள் தாமரையை நாங்கள் திருடவில்லை. எங்கள்மீது பொய்க் குற்றச்சாட்டைச் சுமத்த வேண்டாம். எங்கள் நிர்மலத்தைக் காட்ட, மிகக் கடுமையான சத்தியங்களையும் எடுக்கத் தயாராக இருக்கிறோம்.”
