Bhīṣma uvāca | atraivodāharantīmam itihāsaṃ purātanam | yad vṛttaṃ tīrthayātrāyāṃ śapathaṃ prati tac chṛṇu ||
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—யுதிஷ்டிரா! இதே தொடர்பில் ஒரு பழமையான வரலாற்று உதாரணம் சொல்லப்படுகிறது. தீர்த்தயாத்திரையில் சபதத்தைச் சார்ந்து நடந்த நிகழ்வை கேள்.
