Śrāddha-utpatti and Nivāpa–Agni Precedence (श्राद्धोत्पत्तिः—निवापेऽग्निपूर्वकत्वम्)
पूर्वप्रोष्ठपदा: कुर्वन् बहून् विन्दत्यजाविकान् । उत्तरासु प्रकुर्वाणो विन्दते गा: सहस्रश:
pūrvaproṣṭhapadāḥ kurvan bahūn vindaty ajāvikān | uttarāsu prakurvāṇo vindate gāḥ sahasraśaḥ ||
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—பூர்வபாத்ரபதா (பூர்வப்ரோஷ்டபதா) நட்சத்திரத்தில் சிராத்தம் செய்பவன் பல ஆடுகள்-செம்மறியாடுகளைப் பெறுவான்; உத்தரபாத்ரபதா (உத்தரப்ரோஷ்டபதா) நட்சத்திரத்தில் செய்பவன் ஆயிரக்கணக்கான பசுக்களைப் பெறுவான்।
