The Duty to Fulfill Promised Gifts
एवमुक्त: प्रत्युवाच शृगालो वानरं तदा । ब्राह्मणस्य प्रतिश्रुत्य न मया तदुपाहृतम्
evam uktaḥ pratyuvāca śṛgālo vānaraṃ tadā | brāhmaṇasya pratiśrutya na mayā tad upāhṛtam ||
இவ்வாறு கேட்டபோது நரி குரங்கிற்கு மறுமொழி கூறியது— “ஒரு பிராமணனுக்குக் கொடுப்பேன் என்று வாக்குக் கொடுத்து, அதை நான் அவனிடம் வழங்கவில்லை.”
