Cows and Ghee as Supreme Purifiers
असुर्या नाम ते लोका गां दत्त्वा तानू न गच्छति । पीतोदकां जग्धतृणां नष्टक्षीरां निरिन्द्रियाम्
bhīṣma uvāca | asuryā nāma te lokā gāṁ dattvā tānū na gacchati | pītodakāṁ jagdhatṛṇāṁ naṣṭakṣīrāṁ nirindriyām |
‘அசூர்ய’ எனப்படும் சூரியஒளியற்ற இருண்ட உலகங்கள் உள்ளன; முறையாகப் பசுதானம் செய்பவன் அவற்றிற்குச் செல்ல வேண்டியதில்லை. ஆனால் நீர் மறுக்கப்பட்ட, தீவனம் இழந்த, பால் கெட்டுப்போன, உணர்ச்சிச் சக்தி குன்றிய பசுவை தானம் செய்தால்—அது பெறும் பிராமணனுக்கு வீண் துன்பம் தரும்; தானம் செய்தவனும் கொடிய நரகத்தில் வீழ்வான்।
