Go-mahātmyam: Pavitrāṇāṃ Pavitraṃ
Cows and Ghee as Supreme Purifiers
प्रजा: सृजेति चादिष्ट: पूर्व दक्ष: स्वयम्भुवा । असृजद् वृत्तिमेवाग्रे प्रजानां हितकाम्यया
prajāḥ sṛjeti cādiṣṭaḥ pūrvaṃ dakṣaḥ svayambhuvā | asṛjad vṛttim evāgre prajānāṃ hitakāmyayā ||
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—படைப்பின் தொடக்கத்தில் ஸ்வயம்பூ பிரம்மா முன்பே தக்ஷனை நோக்கி, “பிரஜைகளைப் படை” என்று ஆணையிட்டார். ஆனால் உயிர்களின் நலனை விரும்பிய தக்ஷன், முதலில் அவர்களுக்கான வாழ்வாதாரத்தை அமைத்து, பின்னரே பிரஜா-படைப்பைத் தொடங்கினான்.
