शूरा बहुविधा: प्रोक्तास्तेषामर्थास्तु मे शृणु । शूरान्वयानां निर्दिष्ट फलं शूरस्य चैव हि
bhīṣma uvāca | śūrā bahuvidhāḥ proktās teṣām arthāṁs tu me śṛṇu | śūrānvayānāṁ nirdiṣṭaṁ phalaṁ śūrasya caiva hi ||
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—வீரர்களின் பல வகைகள் சொல்லப்பட்டுள்ளன; அவற்றின் பொருளை என்னிடமிருந்து கேளுங்கள். அத்தகைய வீரர்களின் வம்சத்தாருக்கும் அந்த வீரனுக்குமே விதிக்கப்பட்ட பலனை நான் கூறுகிறேன்.
