Merit and Destinations from the Gift of Cows
स्वधीतस्यापि च फल दृश्यतेअमुत्र चेह च । इहलोके<थवा नित्यं ब्रह्मलोके च मोदते,वेदोंके स्वाध्यायका फल भी इहलोक और परलोकमें भी देखा जाता है। स्वाध्यायशील द्विज इहलोक और ब्रह्मलोकमें भी सदा आनन्द भोगता है
svadhītasyāpi ca phalaṃ dṛśyate ’mutra ceha ca | ihaloke ’thavā nityaṃ brahmaloke ca modate ||
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—வேத ஸ்வாத்யாயத்தின் பலன் இவ்வுலகிலும் அடுத்துலகிலும் இரண்டிலும் காணப்படுகிறது. ஸ்வாத்யாயத்தில் நிலைத்த இருபிறப்பன் இவ்வுலகிலும் பிரம்மலோகத்திலும் என்றும் மகிழ்ந்து வாழ்கிறான்.
