प्राणान् दत्त्वा कपोताय यत् प्राप्ते शिबिना पुरा । तां गतिं लभते दत्त्वा द्विजस्यान्नं विशाम्पते
prāṇān dattvā kapotāya yat prāpte śibinā purā | tāṁ gatiṁ labhate dattvā dvijasya annaṁ viśāmpate prajānātha |
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—பிரஜாநாதா! முற்காலத்தில் அரசன் சிபி ஒரு புறாவின் பொருட்டு தன் உயிரையே அர்ப்பணித்து அடைந்த உத்தம கதியை, பிராமணனுக்கு அன்னம் தானம் செய்பவனும் அதே கதியாகவே அடைகிறான்।
