Karma-Phala Rahasya and the Ethics of Dāna (कर्मफल-रहस्यं दानधर्मश्च)
इस प्रकार श्रीमह्याभारत अनुशासनपर्वके अन्तर्गत दानधर्मपर्वमें दैव और पुरुषार्थका निर्देशविषयक छठा अध्याय पूरा हुआ
cakṣur dadyān mano dadyād vācaṃ dadyāc ca sūnṛtām | anuvrajed upāsīta sa yajñaḥ pañca-dakṣiṇaḥ ||
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—விருந்தினர் வந்தால் மகிழ்ந்த பார்வையால் நோக்க வேண்டும்; சேவையில் மனத்தை அர்ப்பணிக்க வேண்டும்; இனியதும் உண்மையுமான சொற்களை வழங்க வேண்டும்; அவர் புறப்படும் போது சிறிது தூரம் உடன் சென்று வழியனுப்ப வேண்டும்; அவர் தங்கியிருக்கும் வரை உபசாரத்தில் ஈடுபட்டு இருக்க வேண்டும். இல்லறத்தார்க்கு இவை ஐந்தும் ஐந்து தக்ஷிணைகளுடன் கூடிய யாகமாகும்.
