दानफलप्रकरणम् — उपानहदानं, तिलदानं, भूमिदानं, गोदानं, अन्नदानं च

अप्यल्पं प्रददुः सर्वे पृथिव्या इति नः श्रुतम् । भूमिमेव ददुः सर्वे भूमिं ते भुञज्जते जना:
apy alpaṁ pradaduḥ sarve pṛthivyā iti naḥ śrutam | bhūmim eva daduḥ sarve bhūmiṁ te bhuñjate janāḥ ||
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—பூமியின் சிறிதளவையாவது தானம் செய்தவர்களும் நிலதானத்தின் முழுப் பயனை அடைவார்கள் என்று நாம் கேட்டுள்ளோம். உண்மையில் நிலம் தானம் செய்பவர் பூமியையே தானம் செய்தவராகக் கருதப்படுகிறார்; மக்கள் மறுலோகத்தில் அதே நிலத்தைப் பலனாக அனுபவிக்கிறார்கள்।
