यच्चादाय तदाज्ञप्तं भीत॑ं दत्तं सुदारुणम् । यजेदू् राजा न तं॑ यज्ञ प्रशंसन्त्यस्य साधव:
yac cādāya tadājñaptaṁ bhītaṁ dattaṁ sudāruṇam | yajed rājā na taṁ yajñaṁ praśaṁsanty asya sādhavaḥ ||
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—பறித்து எடுத்து, அச்சமும் கடும் வற்புறுத்தலும் கொண்டு வசூலித்த செல்வத்தை வழங்குமாறு ஆணையிட்டு, அதனால் அரசன் யாகம் செய்தால், அந்த யாகத்தை சாதுக்கள் புகழார். அச்சுறுத்தலும் ஒடுக்குமுறையும் மூலம் திரட்டிய செல்வத்தால் நடத்தப்படும் யாகம் தர்மத்திற்கு எதிரானதால் மாசுபடும்.
