इत्येतद् गोषु मे प्रोक्त माहात्म्यं भरतर्षभ । गुणैकदेशवचनं शक्यं पारायणं न तु
ity etad goṣu me proktaṃ māhātmyaṃ bharatarṣabha | guṇaikadeśavacanaṃ śakyaṃ pārāyaṇaṃ na tu ||
இவ்வாறு, பாரதகுலச் சிறந்தவனே! நான் உனக்கு பசுக்களின் மகிமையை உரைத்தேன். ஆனால் இது அவர்களின் நற்குணங்களில் ஒரு பகுதியே; சிலவற்றைச் சொல்ல இயலும், அனைத்தையும் முழுமையாகப் பாடி முடிப்பது இயலாது.
