ब्राह्मणानां सतामेष ब्राह्मो धर्मो युधिष्ठिर । आवाह्गामावहेदेवं यो दद्यादनुकूलत:
brāhmaṇānāṃ satām eṣa brāhmo dharmo yudhiṣṭhira | āvāhāgāmāvah edeṃvaṃ yo dadyād anukūlataḥ ||
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்— ஓ யுதிஷ்டிரா! நற்குணம் கொண்ட பிராமணர்களின் ‘பிராஹ்ம’ தர்மம் இதுவே: மரியாதையுடன் அழைத்து உரிய வரவேற்புடன் ஏற்றுக் கொண்டவருக்கு, அவனுக்குப் பயனளிக்கும் வகையில், அவனுக்கேற்ற முறையில் தானம் செய்ய வேண்டும்.
