अन्न ते वर्तयिष्यामि इतिहासं पुरातनम् । यथा रक्षा कृता पूर्व विपुलेन महात्मना
anna te vartayiṣyāmi itihāsaṃ purātanam | yathā rakṣā kṛtā pūrvaṃ vipulena mahātmanā ||
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—அன்புடையவனே! நான் உனக்கு ஒரு பழம்பெரும் வரலாற்றைச் சொல்கிறேன்—முன்னொரு காலத்தில் மகாத்மா விபுலன் தன் குருவின் மனைவியை எவ்வாறு காத்தான் என்பதை.
