Adhyāya 39 — Yudhiṣṭhira’s inquiry on attachment (saṅga) and relational restraint
श्रुत्वा च नावजानामि नापराध्यामि कर्हिचित् । अभ्यर्च्यभ्यनुपृच्छामि पादौ गृह्नामि धीमताम्
śrutvā ca nāvajānāmi nāparādhyāmi karhicit | abhyarcyābhyānupṛcchāmi pādau gṛhṇāmi dhīmatām ||
அவர்களின் சொற்களைச் செவிமடுத்து நான் அவர்களை இகழ்வதில்லை; எப்போதும் அவர்களுக்கு அபராதம் செய்வதுமில்லை. அவர்களைப் பூஜித்து நலன் விசாரித்து, அறிவுடையோரின்—சிறப்பாக விவேகமிக்க பிராமணர்களின்—திருவடிகளைப் பற்றிப் பணிகிறேன்.
