Mataṅga–Śakra Dialogue on Tapas, Status, and Moral Qualities
शयानं वीरशयने कालाकाड्'क्षिणमच्युतम् । आज ममुर्भरतश्रेष्ठ द्रष्टकामा महर्षय:
vaiśampāyana uvāca | śayānaṃ vīraśayane kālākāṅkṣiṇam acyutam | ājagmur bharataśreṣṭha draṣṭukāmā maharṣayaḥ ||
வைசம்பாயனர் கூறினார்—ஓ பரதகுலச் சிறந்தவனே! பீஷ்மன் வீரரின் படுக்கையில் (அம்புப் படுக்கையில்) அசையாத மனத்துடன் படுத்திருந்து, மரணத்தின் நிர்ணயிக்கப்பட்ட கணத்தை எதிர்நோக்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தான்; அவரைக் காண விரும்பிய பல மகரிஷிகள் அங்கே வந்தனர்.
