उपस्पृश्य फल कि स्यात्तेषु तीर्थेषु वै मुने । प्रेत्यभावे महाप्राज्ञ तद्‌ यथास्ति तथा वद

upaspṛśya phalaṁ ki syāt teṣu tīrtheṣu vai mune | pretyabhāve mahāprajña tad yathāsti tathā vada ||

பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—முனிவரே! அந்தத் தீர்த்தங்களில் நீராடினால் மரணத்திற்குப் பின் என்ன பயன் கிடைக்கும்? மகாப்ராஜ்ஞரே! உண்மை நிலைமை எப்படியோ அப்படியே சொல்லுங்கள்।
