Tīrtha-vaṃśa Upadeśa: Instruction on the Fruits of Sacred Waters
अकल्ककस्य विप्रस्य रौक्ष्यात् करकृतात्मन: । वटवो यस्य भिक्षन्ति तेभ्यो दत्त महाफलम्
akalkakasya viprasya raukṣyāt karakṛtātmanaḥ | vaṭavo yasya bhikṣanti tebhyo dattaṃ mahāphalam ||
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—வஞ்சமற்ற ஒரு பிராமணன் கடும் வறுமையால் கடினமடைந்து, அவன் கைகளில் சிறிதளவு உணவு வந்தவுடனே அவன் பசித்த பிள்ளைகள் “எனக்கு கொடு, எனக்கு கொடு” என்று உடனே கேட்பார்களானால்—அந்தப் பிராமணனுக்கும் அந்தப் பிள்ளைகளுக்கும் அளிக்கப்படும் தானம் மகத்தான பலனைத் தரும்.
