यजनं बहुशश्चाग्नौ जगु: सामानि सामगा: । ततश्चन्दनकाष्ठैश्ष तथा कालीयकैरपि

Transliteration

yajanaṃ bahuśaścāgnau jaguḥ sāmāni sāmagāḥ | tataścandanakāṣṭhaiś ca tathā kālīyakair api ||

Translation

சாமகானம் செய்யும் பிராமணர்கள் அக்னியில் மீண்டும் மீண்டும் ஆஹுதிகளைச் செலுத்தி சாம மந்திரங்களைப் பாடினர். பின்னர் சந்தனக் கட்டைகளாலும் காளீயகம் போன்ற நறுமணப் பொருட்களாலும் (அக்னியை) மேலும் போஷித்தனர்.
