दम्भो हादम्भो वैदम्भो वश्यो वशकर: कलि: । लोककर्ता पशुपतिर्महाकर्ता हनौषध:
vāyudeva uvāca | dambho ’dambho vaidambho vaśyo vaśakaraḥ kaliḥ | lokakartā paśupatiḥ mahākartā anauṣadhaḥ ||
வாயு கூறினார்—அவன் பகைவரை அடக்கும் வீரன்; ஆயினும் அகந்தையற்றவன்; அகந்தையற்றோர்க்கு நெருங்கியவன்; பக்தர்க்கு வசப்படுபவன், பிறரை வசப்படுத்தும் ஆற்றலுடையவன். அவனே கலியுகமாகிய காலம்; உலகங்களைப் படைப்பவன், உயிர்களின் ஆண்டவன் (பசுபதி), பஞ்சமகாபூதாதி அனைத்துப் படைப்பையும் வடிவமைக்கும் மகாபடைப்பாளன்; மேலும் அன்னமும் மருந்தும் சாராதவன்.
